QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Common Inquiries

We know that letting someone else take care of your pet can be difficult. To make the process a little easier, we've put together some of the questions that are frequently asked. If there’s something we missed, just reach out and well do our best to help.

HOW IS MARISA'S PET CARE DIFFERENT FROM OTHER BOARDING & DAYCARE OPTIONS?

Your pup will enjoy their stay in our home, a welcoming environment. Rather than just providing the basics (food, water, and shelter), we go above and beyond to ensure your pet is happy, active, and well-adjusted while you're away. Each pet receives tailored care with services like group play, individual play, flexible sleeping arrangements, stress relieving activities, and so much more! We also offer a large variety of treats, homemade biscuits, homemade frozen treats, and fresh grilled or boiled chicken!

WHAT INFORMATION IS IMPORTANT TO SHARE ABOUT MY DOG?

  • Your dogs behavior around other dogs

  • Your dogs behavior around new people

  • Your dogs behavior when unsupervised

  • Any behavioral concerns

  • Training history

  • Your dogs daily schedule

  • Health concerns/Medication

  • Anything you feel would help us maintain a safe and comfortable environment for your pet

WHAT ACTIVITIES CAN THE DOGS PARTICIPATE IN?

The dogs are let out in the yard frequently. While outside we play tug of war, fetch and chase! While the dogs are inside, we play games like 'find the treat' and utilize stimulating toys to keep everyone busy. We also use reward-based training to build your dog's confidence and ensure a stress-free stay. Toys are always available inside and out with supervision.

WILL MY DOG BE IN A CAGE?

If your dog does not use a cage at home, they will not use one here. For dogs who do use a cage, we provide cages for dogs of all sizes! Please let us know whether or not your dog uses a cage at home.

I HAVE MULTIPLE PETS, CAN THEY STAY TOGETHER?

All pets from the same home will be able to stay together, day and night! They will still be able to interact with our other guests during the day, and at night we provide a spacious area for your pets to sleep with each other. If you prefer your pets have time apart, please mention that prior to booking.

CAN I TOUR THE HOME?

To keep our guests comfortable and secure we do not offer tours. Visitors may be disruptive to our guests and cause unnecessary stress. In addition, accommodating tours would require us to take attention and care away from our guests throughout the day.

DO YOU OFFER TRANSPORTATION?

We offer pick up and drop off for an additional fee. Dogs must be comfortable in a moving vehicle to be eligible for this service.

ARE THERE VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS?

Prior to booking we ask for veterinary records showing your pets have had each of these vaccinations and ate up to date:

  • Rabies

  • Distemper

  • Parvo Virus

  • Bordetella- *Must be administered at least 1 week prior to booking

*Canine Influenza Vaccine- We highly reccomend but do not require this vaccine

WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH MY DOG?

  • Your dog's regular food (Dry food should be portioned in bags OR provide a scoop)

  • Treats

  • Medication/Vitamins

  • A fitted collar WITH ID TAGS

  • Completed forms (If not sent in)

  • Up to date vet records (If not sent in)

*Always bring at least 2 extra days worth of food, medication, vitamins and treats*

We provide bedding, blankets, toys, bowls and cages, we ask that you dont bring your own unless previously discussed.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AT DROP OFF AND PICK UP?

As part of our stress-free entry-exit process we operate by appointment only and do not allow humans inside. We ask that you view our pick up and drop off hours, then request a pick up or drop off within that timeframe. We will do our best to accommodate you and your pet at the time most convenient for you. Please message us 10 minutes prior to arrival with your ETA. If you're running late or early to your appointment, please message us immediately and we will do our best to accommodate you. In the event we cannot accommodate you immediately due to late or early arrival a new appointment must be scheduled and a rescheduling fee of $25.00 will be applied. When you arrive, please message or call us and wait in your car until someone comes to greet you. We ask that you be patient while we ensure each guest is contained safely prior to opening the door.

CAN ANY DOG COME IN FOR BOARDING OR DAYCARE?

In order to maintain a safe and comfortable environment your pup must be:

  • Friendly with people and dogs

  • At least 4 months old

  • In good overall health

  • Current on required vaccines

  • Free of fleas, ticks, infection or disease

  • Free of open wounds of any kind

  • Wearing a fitted collar with ID tag

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT WHEN MY DOG COMES HOME?

After playing with friends its normal for your pet to come home more tired than usual. It's not uncommon for pets to sleep a lot and even skip meals once they come home. Water is always available to our guests; however, they may be quite thirsty, especially if they tend to be more active.
